May 2005 - FIGHT NIGHT RESULTS -
A Successful Night for the AFS Team On the 15 May 2005 three fighters fought in
amateur rules shoot fights in Exeter. All three fighters
successfully defeated their opponents.
Tim
Murray -
won
by judges decision having been the more agressive of the two
fighters. Tim scored a number of takedowns including a single
leg to inside leg trip and dominated his opponent with a
series of knees from the neck clinch and strikes on the
ground.
John Aina - gained the unanimous judges decision by
dominating his opponent with superior striking skills
throughout the fight. The highlight of which was the
brutal Thai kick to the thigh which took his opponents
legs out from underneath him, dropping him un ceremoniously to
the
canvas.
Jay
Gallup - submitted his opponent
with a triangle choke in the first round. Jay successfully
defended a double leg attempt by sprawling ontop of his
opponent. Jay then proceeded to take guard and finish his
opponent.
An excellent
night for the whole team and big congratulations to the
fighters. Thanks again to those who made the 3 hour trip to
support the guys!!! Watch this space as fight clips will
be posted onto the site.
